Knitting I & II
In Knitting I and II, you'll learn how to select materials and the basics of knitting, including casting on, the fundamental knit and purl stitches, binding off, and basic troubleshooting such as picking up a dropped stitch and correcting twisted stitches. After this class, you should be able to tackle your first knitting project -- a simple scarf. Limited to 6 students.
Supplies: Supplies are available for purchase at Spark Craft Studios before class. Please try to come 15-20 minutes early to purchase supplies and ball your yarn.
Skill level: Beginner
Fee: $50 (includes Knitting I & II)

When registering for Beginning Knitting, please indicate the dates you prefer for Knitting I and Knitting II. (If you previously took Knitting I at Spark Craft Studios and would like to take Knitting II only, the price is $25.)

Knitting in the Round
Go beyond scarves!  In this two-part class, we'll tackle knitting in the round, the basic building block for hats and other circular needle projects.
Supplies: Free pattern included and materials (yarn, needles) may be purchased in the store at Spark Craft Studios before class.
Skill level: Advanced Beginner - suggested pre-requisites are Knitting I & II (or equivalent experience).
Fee: $40 (for 2 sessions)

Knitting - Socks
Learn to make socks in time for holiday gift-giving!  In the first class, you'll get the hang of knitting in the round and begin your socks. In the next two sessions, you'll learn to turn the heel, decrease and finish your socks. 
Skill level: Advanced Beginner - suggested pre-requisites are Knitting I & II and Knitting in the Round (or equivalent experience).
Fee: $60 (for 3 sessions)
Supplies: Doublepointed needles, 1-2 skeins of sock yarn, and pattern are available for purchase at Spark Craft Studios.

Learn to make mittens in time for holiday gift-giving!

Knitting - Sweaters
In our Advanced Knitting Intensive, you may choose to work from start to finish on a sweater.  We'll cover knitting a swatch, shaping the sleeves and collar, button holes, pattern work, and assembling your pieces into a finished sweater.

Experimenting with Stitches
Go beyond the basics of knit and purl! In this three-part class, you will learn to combine knits and purls to create cables, bobbles, basic lace work, and other textured patterns. At the end of this class you will have several textured swatches you could use as potholders, washcloths, or sew together to make a blanket.
Supplies: Suggested yarn and needles may be purchased in the store at Spark Craft Studios before class.
Skill level: pre-requisites are Knitting I & II (or equivalent experience)

Experimenting with Color-Work
Interested in moving from the basics of knitting to dabbling in color-work? In this three-part class, you will learn to switch colors in your knitting to create vertical and horizontal stripes, knit intarsia, and knit basic fair isle. At the end of this class you will have several color-work swatches.
Supplies: Suggested yarn and needles may be purchased in the store at Spark Craft Studios before class.

Knitting – Lacy Socks
Just because the weather is warming up doesn't mean that your feet have to be cold! Learn how to make some pretty, lacy socks that will keep your feet warm during the cooler Summer nights. In this three-session class, you will choose one of three lacy sock patterns to work on from beginning to end.
Skill level: Advanced Beginner - suggested pre-requisites Socks I, II, and III or (or equivalent experience).
Fee: $60 (for 3 sessions) includes sock pattern.
Supplies: Double pointed needles, 1-2 skeins of sock yarn, and pattern are available for purchase at Spark Craft Studios.

Private Knitting Lessons

Stitch n' Bitch Knitting Circle - Free
Bring your knitting or crocheting project and your coffee and sit with other knitters and crocheters to work on projects.  Please note:  This group meets most Wednesday evenings but may be canceled due to limited space in the studio.  It is a good idea to call the studio at 617.441.5200 or check the Stitch n' Bitch Boston Yahoo! Group to see if the group is meeting.
Skill level: All levels welcome.
